What this service covers
Many ignition problems are actually caused by a worn key rather than the barrel. In that case a freshly cut and programmed dealer quality key solves it, backed by our two year key warranty.
Where the ignition barrel itself is worn or damaged, the locksmith explains the options on site, which can include freeing a seized barrel or replacing and coding the ignition barrel to your key where the vehicle allows.
If the car does not recognise the key at all, we check the transponder and immobiliser with diagnostic equipment and programme a replacement key when that is the cause. Some faults fall outside locksmith work, and if so we tell you honestly rather than charge for a guess.
